LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
I’ve been sitting in front of my computer for 10 minutes deciding how I’d intro this city guide and I still can’t make up my mind. LA is like a city you love to hate, but also keep going back to?
I love the food, the beach… but hate the traffic and the long distances between everything. Am I more European? Yeah, duh… but as far as American cities go and depending on the day, yeah… LA is ok.
STAY
Air BnB
I personally have stayed downtown LA, but I like renting a house in Venice or Studio City much more.
EAT
Daikokuya
Best ramen, but long line, but pork fried rice!!
Bestia
Love this Italian place
Cecconi’s
In N Out
Jon and Vinny’s
Don’t @ me, that caesar salad lives rent-free in my head
Ysabel
Unfortunately, douchey, but just love that garden - I usually go for breakfast and then head to Melrose Trading Post
Felix
Amazing Venice Italian
The Rose Venice
Breakfast burrito, period.
Katsuya
Studio City, yum sushi
Sushi Go 55
A hidden gem in the Little Tokyo Mall. Never a wait and the quality is top-notch. Plus the people who own and run the place are super friendly
Alma
Fine dining tasting menu style place
Downtown LA Proper Hotel Rooftop Patio
Cute for a girl’s night for light bites and drinks
Cento Pasta Bar
Fresh pastas — and definitely get the banana tiramisu (coming from the girl who hates tiramisu)
Celio Farms
Winery in Malibu — grab friends and go for an afternoon, it’s beautiful
DO
Rent a car
Cannot stress this enough. LA is big and I’m talking big big. Like most American cities, you have to drive to anything and everything. So yeah, rent a car.
Mulholland Drive
Driving around at sunset is so fun and beautiful - definitely worth it to go to the lookout for sunset.
Topanga Park
Are you even in LA if you don’t go on a hot girl hike?
Malibu
Just go and spend a day in Malibu — stop in at Malibu Farm for a bite by the water!
Grand Central Market
You’ll definitely eat — Eggslut ftw!
Venice Canals
Grab a coffee at Great White in Venice and walk the canals in the morning
LACMA
An afternoon at the museum for some ~culture. I really went to see Levitated Mass.
