Making more conscious choices for your wardrobe doesn’t have to be hard. Here are some brands that helped my search once I turned my back on fast fashion:

  • KOTN

If you follow me on social or know me irl, this one comes at no surprise. I’m in a white KOTN t-shirt 99% of the time.

  • Mara Hoffman

The devotion to colour is what stands out most to me about Mara Hoffman. It’s definitely on the more expensive end, but I’m a strong believer in quality > quantity.

  • Baukjen

Love knits and outerwear from this brand — they were the recipients of the UN Climate Action Award + they have a return program whereby you can get a voucher to shop when you return used items (from the brand)… which we love.

  • Reformation

Also a brand I’m typically wearing — they have such beautiful dresses and I’ve been gravitating towards their shoes more and more this year. There are also stores everywhere, so I find this brand particularly accessible.

  • Everlane

I first discovered Everlane in 2017 and I still have pieces that are in mint condition from the brand. I like that everything is minimal. I don’t love their shoes I’ll admit, but for basics, it’s the best.

  • Italic

I admittedly couldn’t find a sustainability rating on Italic, but I do appreciate the brand’s transparency. They essentially offer items (fashion, home, accessories, linens) using partners that produce for other brands (which you’ll always see in the product listings). It’s like the ‘no name’ brand of fashion — except the caveat is you need a membership to access + it only ships within the US.
